Skywatch Friday – Ominous

I’m doing lots of walking these days. I haven’t run at all since last spring. I still think as a runner though, strangely enough. The above was taken last week here in Tulsa. It was kind of an ordinary color photo and but then I “messed with it” added some hdr and turned in black and white and it looks very ominous. Oklahoma is the king of ominous skies. With global warming there is a “lot of energy” in the atmosphere as the scientists put it. That’s not a good thing.

And here is a patented front yard sky shot from the house. I also “messed” with this photo. At least it is not ominous.

I injured my back last week and the doctor gave me some exercises to do. It’s basically yoga and all told between the stretching, the strengthening, and the stretching again it takes about an hour and 20 minutes and it is pretty strenuous but I get that feeling of well being afterward. The critters love that I am down on the floor with them. Which is fine but you know they need to get their own yoga mats. What do you think?

I am still geocaching. I will never stop. I am going to have a geocache hidden in my gravestone when my time expires here on earth. I might get it set ahead of time to make sure its done right. Anyway I digress again. This cache was at a park and I posted the video on instagram and one of my Igram buddies said hey, his grandson put that out as a scout project. I love the gentle fuzzy corner of the internet I am in with photobloggers and instagram. It makes the world a little smaller and kinder. Just so you know though I get rough and rowdy on twitter and I’m kind of in between on facebook. I have been unfriended by scores of people on facebook.

I’m on linkedin as well. Mainly the oil and gas part of it. Right now they are all swooning because Biden is going to destroy the oilfield and our economy is going to die and blah, blah, blah. Those two things didn’t do too well unde the last guy. Presidents come and go, and energy prices go up and down, and I don’t think there is much correlation. The oil and gas guys don’t want to hear that though.

Oh well, I’m getting off topic now. Everybody stay safe and post lots of great photos.

You do have dramatic skies. That second one looks like a nagahide couch cover. I think walking is healthier than running. Ask the cats.

Geez…I think I could have found that cache if I’d been willing to look through all those prickly branches. Probably not so easy when there are leaves on the shrubs. I hope you plan to leave a trust for somebody to keep your cache maintained.

I’m looking forward to getting my knee fixed so I can start yoga again. Squatting down or being on my knees is simply impossible right now. I think the cats enjoy sharing your mat.

    Beautiful sky shots!

The Black and white shot is very ominous, but i love your edit. et, the second is my favorite, because it lights up these “streams.” Don’t know if that was an edit too? Thanks for hosting the skies – Someone has to do it! Have a great weekend, Jesh

Alan – the first two photos are outstanding. Your “messing” with them truly enhanced the effect. I read your yoga mat paragraph to my husband. He thought I should warn you that you could get a yoga mat for your cat and it would STILL sit on yours!!!! (But I think you knew that already!)

Love your edited black and white dramatic sky shot. Exercise will be good for your back. Yes, I think the critters need their own mat. Lol! Take care and stay safe.

Awesome sky shots ~ great geocache info but your fur persons ‘steal the show’ ~ they are adorable and my fur person needs her own Yoga mat too ~ but truth be told I don’t mind sharing briefly ~ Great post ~ Happy Weekend and hugs to the fur persons ~ namaste too.

I enjoyed your first two shots, especially the second one. I’m funny about photo manipulation. If it is really obvious that it was manipulated (and the photographer discloses that) I tend to enjoy it. It’s its own art form. I have bad news: you do know your cat is going to take over your yoga mat. If you get a new one, the cat will start as your companion and then take that one over, too. But it probably beats goat yoga. I’m sorry to hear about your back and hope those stretches work.

Greetings and Salutations! I am so sorry you hurt your back. Yes, exercise is the best thing to be doing right now. Do the two cats get under you while doing your exercises? My ET (black and white cat who lived 23 years and had five toes) always curious would exercise too. Don’t think two cats would stay on their own yoga mats but would want to be near you instead key word here is body heat. Agreed with Alana beats goat yoga! LOL!
