A few weeks ago we got adopted by a dog. We put a signs up, “Found Puppy” and drove around and around our neighborhood and adjoining neighborhoods looking for “Lost Puppy” signs. We have listed him on Craig’s List and the local AHA website. Not a word. In the meantime we have really got attached to him. He is a delightful little puppy. A little wild, like puppies are, but very smart.
So my question is:
How long before he is ours?
We might have already passed that point. What do you think?
I do believe that your wife has passed that point…and so has the pup. I’m guessing that you’re the only one asking that question.
@Driller – Touche! We cannot figure out why his previous owners are not trying to find him. He is a great dog with a sweet disposition and likes people.
Love your new doggie!
“A few weeks…” Yes, you’re past that point…he’s yours! And he’s super cute. What kind of puppy is he?
Oh, he’s so happy to be safe.
I think he’s yours already. What a cutie!
Awww… oh, he is yours.
Cute pic of sweetie and the new pooch.
He’s definitely yours! And he is adorable! Who knows why some people do or don’t do the things they do, but abandoning animals in distant neighborhoods is something that I find really sad. Hope you get to keep him! He does look happy! Have a great day!

Tough one! It could be from another area of town. That said, if he is a puppy and didn’t have a collar or anything, could be because it was abandonned young.
Welcome to doggie daddyhood!!!!
No question, he is yours — or you are his. I could well be that somewhere in your general area is a family whose dog had a litter of pups and are thankful that this one has found a good home.
He’s yours UNLESS he has been micro-chipped but I guess you’ve gone through that process already?
I know nothing about dogs but I think I’m correct in the above. If not, I live in England and I’ve made a fool of myself – nobody knows me in Tulsa 🙂
@Tulsa Gentleman – I hadn’t thought of it that way. He could be part of a litter.
@Leedslass – Yep we had him looked at for a microchip. He’s not.
He’s so cute; I’d keep him. Unless some sweet child with big eyes shows up on your doorstep with tears, I say keep him forever. I mean really, now. How could you wipe that smile off your wife’s face? 😉
@Kelly – Look how she is holding the puppy. You think I could take the puppy away from her.
Now, now Yogi. Don’t tell lies. I talked to Sweetie the other day and she said YOU are the one who is the most attached!
Now the consensus is the puppy belongs to the Yogi family – have you thought of a name?
My suggestion would be Boo (or Booboo) – I would have said Yosemite but that’s a bit long! Thought for a blog – “name the pup”???
Awww, how cute! I think he’s attached to your family too! If it was an older dog, I would’ve suggested you check for an address on the collar or microchip.

Give him a name, lock up your shoes and enjoy!

He’s home. What’s his name?
If no one has responded to the puppy signs in a couple of weeks, you might as well consider him yours. Got a name picked out yet?
He’s yours no doubt about it, he’s a cutiepie!
Both the pup and Sweetie are smiling. He’s definitely yours.
