Not much in the way of wildlife lately so I am posting some photos from years ago from a trip to Woolaroc about an hour north of Tulsa. Woolaroc is Frank Phillips’ ranch near Bartlesvville. Phillips is the guy that started Phillips 66 Oil Company and he donated his ranch and art museum years ago to a private foundation that now runs it and is open to the public.
There is a nature preserve there that visitors can drive through. Bison, various breeds of deer and other animals can be seen.
Woolaroc comes from “Woods, Lakes, and Rocks” and that pretty much describes the property.
I’ve always enjoyed visiting Woolaroc. They have a great art museum and several trails to explore, a petting zoo and lots more.

Hello,
Cool photos of the Bison. It is nice that the ranch was donated and it is open to the public.
I am sure they have a great art museum too, it looks like a nice place to visit.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
Awesome buffalo and great series of photos ~ Xo

Great photo’s, I love drive thru safaris!
It would be fun to see them from a distance or from inside a vehicle! What magnificent animals!
I think I read your comment on another post about getting a puppy. I wonder what kind of puppy you are getting. I have been looking at small puppies that would be easy to take care of but I don’t have a fenced in yard so I probably shouldn’t get one. But I really WANT one! lol Enjoy your weekend!
Love to learn something new about Woolaroc!
Hi Alan, This is the first time I’ve heard of Woolaroc! And I grew up in down in your southern neighbor, Texas. Neat bison pictures … thanks for sharing! John
