A shot from the front yard during a rainy interlude.
My wife and Kodi the pomeranian on a walk in the neighborhood greenbelt. I love the orangey sky.
I went on a bike ride on the Osage Prairie Trail in Osage County. This gas station was a location for the movie “The Outsiders” filmed way back in the 1980s. It has been restored by some volunteers and has a sign, fake gas pumps, paint inside and out and geocache. Which I found. One of my geocacher friends had a big role in the restoration.
A nearby church is having a revival!
The old railroad bridge on the trail is a favorite spot of mine for photos.
Switching Gears, this is a scene from Turkey Mountain on a recent hike.
And a shot from the RiverParks trails in Tulsa. I wasn’t hiking or biking, I was handing out gallons and gallons of coca cola and red bull to exhausted runners slogging through the Tulsa Ironman competion. 141 miles combined of swimming in open water, an over 100 mile bike ride, and a marathon distance run. It was a warm day. They had a 70 mile race for wimps.
I’m kidding about the half distance people being wimps. I couldn’t do it in a week. I admire their dedication. I have to admit though why people doing an endurance race would want red bull or coke.
The volunteer fuel was pizza. Unfortunately, my table was next to the truck so I ate more than I should have done.
That’s about it this week. I am linking with Skywatch Friday.
Me gustan los cielos y la pintura es muy bella. Te mando un beso.
…I LOVE the old gas station, we have a few like this here.
Lots of beauty in your post today – even in the stormy sky. My favorite is the orangey sky!
Both the orange sky and your rainy interlude are lovely — dreamlike! (Can’t say the same for the watery picture over on your Skywatch page — floods are scary to think about here too). But I did appreciate the history and of course as always your hosting. …. I can’t imagine how people can do those Ironman competitions. Exhausting to even think about.
Interesting post, I love the photos and the info about the race. I’ve only done 5K’s, with my daughter but would like to do a 10K. My daughter, granddaughter and I are planning on doing a Bubble Run in Dec. We’re really looking forward to it, looks like a lot of fun.
My oldest son likes doing races like the Tough Mudder & Spartan. I say no thank you!
How beautiful is the golden light as well as the artistic rendering of field and trees. And, wow … that is a responsible pizza box encouraging people to recycle. 🙂
Love these pictures.
I remember the outsiders movie well – it was a firm favourite from the 1980s.
I love that little vintage gas station. Kudos to the refurbishers!
All great shots but I do like the walkway shot.
Great shots! Your rainy day sky looks a lot like mine.
Hello Alan,
Beautiful sky images. My favorites are the second one of your wife walking Kodi. the view of the pond and the view of the bridge. Take care, enjoy your day! Happy Memorial Day weekend!
Rainy interlude during golden hour could be heavenly with vivid colors in sky!
Great sky shots, gasoline station and all ~ especially the bridge ~ but Kodi is the show stealer ~ lol ~ Xo
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

My favorites: the orange sky, Turkey Mountain scene from a recent hike, and the gas station. The 70 mile race for wimps lol; I might mange to do a 70 foot race. Pre Covid, I did two senior walk competitions (5K) and several predicted miles for our local Corporate Challenge (company employees compete against other companies, good heartedly, and proceeds go to charity). A predicted mile can be walked or run – you choose, and guess your time before the race. The person who comes closest wins the race – that’s really neat because people of differing abilities can enter this race. Obviously, you aren’t allowed to wear a watch or any other device that can give you the time.
Great looking skies. I like the bridge and the pond. Lovely photos of a pretty area. Thanks for hosting and have a great weekend.
Yes, I agree with you. All your sky impressions are wonderful, but the orange one is the cherry on the cake.
Have a great weekend.
