That is how the “The Message” Bible translation reads for Matthew 6:11 which is part of the Lord’s Prayer.
It is a reminder that despite all our agricultural expertise and industry our food, both physical and spiritual, comes from God.
This past New Year we certainly had three square meals.
Sweetie baked some scones for us. I know it’s kind of messy but I had to have a couple before I remembered to take a photograph.
Here is an action shot of SuperPizzaBoy and the scones. This is a very historic photograph of SPB.
It’s historic because it is the first time that SPB has ever used a napkin instead of a shirt sleeve to wipe his face.
Sweetie also baked us an apple pie. Before,
I’m always after her to not be so stingy with the apples.
After,
I fried the chicken! Of course I ate most of it also.
The Yogi family wishes you a happy, prosperous, and blessed 2010.

Oh that food looks wonderful. SPB looks like he enjoyed every bite of it.
Oh and p.s. they do have those books at the library:

Sorry I have no ideal how to make a clickable link in the comment section.
I’m coming over to your house to eat!
My oh my that looks good, especially the scones! But living in your home would not help my plan to jettison 60lbs this year!
@B – Just you or all the Baloneys? Come one, come all.
@Kathy, with two hearts – I’ll be checking out some graphic novels maybe.
@Brit Gal Sarah – Hey Sweetie is a great low fat cook. Come on over, bring the Hubster, we’ll go geocaching too!
Your scones look yummy. A scone is basically a biscuit with a little sugar and maybe some cinnamon and raisin, right? Pan fried chicken is the best.
Nothing personal but that quote from The Message reminds me of why I don’t like that paraphrase into slang. For an easier translation I much prefer the New Century Version. It is a translation rather than a paraphrase but uses a third grade vocabulary. Sorry, just my prejudice. However that would not keep me from eating your scones.
Yum–I want some!
I hope God continues to nourish you and your family’s souls this year! Happy 2010.
Hi Yogi, I’m a great fan of scones (though I’ve never baked any) – your wife’s look delicious. By the time I made it through the apple pie and the chicken, I had to get up and go for a snack. Gotta read your blog earlier when you post food (it’s after 9PM here!)
