   Such expressive eyes – I’m an elephant fanatic and have several wooden ones around my apt.

   They say that Eyes are the windows into the soul. I think maybe that’s the same for animals.

   Great elephant photo. They are smart animals. Knew of one who used to pull up his leg chain pin, walk over to get some food, and then walk back and replace the pin in the ground so no one would know he had been gone,

   I agree. They are tender-hearted giants. I read in last month’s (This month’s?) Atlantic about a new book that challenges the very old idea that animals do not have emotional lives. Seems there’s research out there to back up what are dogs have been telling us for years.
