On our recent trip to Seattle we took a day and drove out east an hour or so to Rattlesnake Lake.
It’s a very popular though not big lake and very beautiful.
No powerboats but lots of canoers and kayakers out and about.
Sweetie braved the ice cold water and sharp pebbles and waded out to these stumps. See that rock ledge behind her? That is Rattlesnake Ledge and there is a trail up there.
We didn’t make it up there but a lot of people did.
We had a great time. And no, we didn’t see any snakes.
Although it looks a fabulous place, I’m afraid the name could put me off visiting!
Such a beautiful place and your photos are great!! Good old Washington! We do have the beauty, don’t we!!!
Phew! Glad you saw no snakes! I bet you’d have gone the top of the rock ledge if there had been a geocache up there. 😉
I especially like that last photo. Wow, SPB has grown so tall!
the lake looks great, but they really ought to come up with a new name.
I love a lake without power boats, quiet so that one can hear the birds and the breeze in the trees.
What’s the point of calling it Rattlesnake Lake if you don’t see any rattlers? They should think about changing the name.
Beautiful little Lake — and here I am a native Northwesterner who has spent plenty of time in Seattle and I’ve never even heard of this Lake. that last picture is a very nicely framed family (well part of the family) portrait.
Man, that SPB is gettin’ to be a big ol’ boy!
What a beautiful spot! Reminds me a bit of Lake Sommersett in southern Vermont. That’s where I wrecked my ankle late this summer. That part wasn’t so beautiful…
Your boy is starting to look like a young man! Have we really been blogging that long???
Love that last pic. SPB is getting so tall!
Lucky you to enjoy the beautiful scenery without any snakes.
great place to visit. Would love to be in that kayak. 🙂
