“E” is for Elephant this week. The Yogi’s love elephants. We saw them earlier this year at the Ringling Brother’s Circus.
They are all dressed up and are a big part of the show.
I didn’t notice it at the time but the gut above just seems totally despondent.
The animals are very agile.
We saw more elephants late last year at the Oklahoma City Zoo’s fabulous elephant enclosure.
Mother’s rounding up their kids.
What gets me is the eyes. Like the bison they seem so small but are so expressive.
incredible animals ..
I love elephants! The baby ones are so cute! Terrific post and photos for the day!!
You got some great photos of the elephants. They are one of my favorites too and watch every nature show I can about them.
I too love elephants. In England, however, circuses are not allowed to have animals doing tricks.
@Leedslass – now I have learned something. I know it is a controversial thing here in the USA.
The argument is that animals, kept in a circus, do not have sufficient room to live a “normal” life. They are allowed in safari parks etc.
I love elephants too and you got some wonderful pictures!
I bet elephants in a well-maintained zoo are happier than ones at the circus. I think circus people make them do a lot of things that they don’t really want to do. (Yes, I read the book Water for Elephants.)
I remember watching this same circus as a kid. Baby elephants are so cute.
Have you done the elephant chat at the Tulsa Zoo yet?
Beautiful creatures!
