The letter this week is “Q” and so I am featuring Lightning McQueen from the movie “Cars.”
This was taken from the Rock Cafe in Stroud, Oklahoma right on Highway 66. The boy on the right is son SuperPizzaBoy. I took the pic during a Road Trip last September.
The owner of the cafe is Dawn Welch and she was the inspiration for the character Sally Carrera in the movie.
This would have also made a great Ruby Tuesday entry. Nice back-story to go with the image. Did they have a cut-out of “Sally” as well? Does Dawn have Sally’s “tramp stamp”?
What fun that must have been … I (actually both Toonman and I) love animation so I cant believe we didnt see this … gotta get him to order it from NetFlix!
How cool! I’m sure SPB had a blast there! Our Grands sure would have!
Cars is one of my all time favorite movies. Saw the garage that Luigis was designed after in Williams, AZ.
I bet you all had a great time! Love the car! I, too, am certain that SPB had a super time!! Love your capture as always!
Beautiful Q word! It must have been wonderful for the boy to sit in such a fantastic car.
Have a great week.

Love that car and I really loved the movie. Great shot which really gives the viewer the feel of the place. I would love to go there. genie
A neat find and a great photo of SPB and his friend.
Great photo! Your blog always leaves me smiling. Thanks.

Fabulous film and shot. Is it my imagination or has SPB shot up in size since last September? My initial reaction on seeing the photograph was it must be quite old because of SPB – how wrong wasI?
Like Roger, I have yet to see the Cars movies although I hear from so many how much fun they were…
