Camera Critters – Peacock

We have friends who live on acreage on the outskirts of Tulsa. They have sheep, chickens and other fowl, but my favorite are the peacocks. They are shy so its hard to get a good photograph of them.

I’ve never had the opportunity to get a photo of the male’s beautiful plumage in full glory. So I’m envious of your shot!

Those are tail feathers to be proud of:-) Over here they’re considered unlucky to be brought into the home. The feathers that is!!!!!

Great shot. This fellow must be a cross between a standard peacock and a white one. I see some white on the body too. I got a picture of an all white one in Japan. Peacocks are wonderful creatures but your first reader was right, they are very noisy.

I know they’re shy because every time we go to the zoo, my Grands follow them around but the peacocks stay several steps ahead! This one is giving you a nice display!

    Beautiful shot!
The plumage and coloration seems quite unusual. It looks like a cross between an India Blue peafowl and a White one. He is a very handsome fellow.

A great photo. Isn’t it funny these blue dudes who strut their stuff are also shy? It’s not easy to be beautiful and shy–people might take you for a snob!

I LOVE peacocks…just love them. When we drive to the cabin there is a house along the way that has several of these beauties and sometimes the male is in full showmanship in front of a white garage door…magnificient!

I love the white feathers in the center of his plume! Thanks for coming by and commenting on my fence! The soil here is so sandy the water just rolls off the top and very little soaks in, that’s why we end up with flash floods in the gullys and washes. Still, it looks like the appartment building would eventually end up on the road below!

Peacocks are so cool! I love this pic! If I lived in warmer climes, I would want to have birds like your friends. Wait. Birds are our friends… 🙂
