First Post on YogisDen.us

Hello there, this is my first post on YogisDen.us. I have been blogging for years as Yogi’s Den on blogger and now I am trying to get all growns up with a wordpress blog on my own domain and contracted host. Wish me luck. It is very different from blogger is my first report. To those of you that came over from blogger, welcome and please bear with me as I try and figure this out. In case you are wondering I moved all my posts and comments over from blogger and am in the process of putting in redirects to send everybody over here who lands on the old site.

And by the way, in case anybody doesn’t know, that young man pictured above is my son Logan. He is very good natured. He has to be to put up with me.

Thank you very much. Your comment is the very first one on my new blog. Sorry I haven’t been a good blog friend lately. I’ve been elbow deep in getting this thing going.

Thank you! I’m still feeling my way about it. It was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be.

I’ll take you up on it Bill. First though I have a vacation to go on next week in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

You were my inspiration Gaelyn. I had so many advise me that I would have to hire somebody to manage the transition and design the theme and blah, blah, blah. You just went ahead and did it and I figured I could also.

Congratulations (I think) on your change-over. I’m only unsure as I’m not enthused by anything different (it’s an age thing). I don’t want to lose our contact as I love your banter (but not your car pictures).

Well thank you (I think). This may be a mistake but I’m game. I’m glad that I can reply to you directly with wordpress

I’ll be following your transition to WordPress with great interest. I’ve been blogging on Blogger since 2011 and often have minor problems with Blogger and find it somewhat limiting. But it is free and pretty easy to use. Good luck!!

I just felt the need to change. Blogger is not a bad deal but I don’t trust Google.

Well it was easier than I thought it would be. The big host companies are very familiar with wordpress and will install it for you on your site. There are import plugins that will move your blogger posts, comments, photographs, and links over. And there is another plugin that will fix your blogger template up to automatically move people over from your old blog to your new blog.

      You can do it!

Congratulations on moving to the new format. I’m not sure that I am brave enought to make the move to WordPress, but I may have to look into that possibility this year. Like you, I’m not a fan of Google, Google+, or anything that Google does. I am not surprised that there is absolutely NO customer service. But since Blogger is free, I suppose that I don’t really have much room to complain.
Yes, I absolutely LOVE your dad’s tie. I would wear that today, if I had the chance. Very nice tribute to your father. Have a blessed week. I gotta go change my link to your new blog site now.

Switching is not for the faint of heart. Luckily all the plugins and stuff worked even though I didn’t totally understand them.

Awesome new blog, brother! I use WordPress to maintain our corporate website so I’m sure you’ll learn to love it. Great pics of Dad! I have no recollection of where the shot of all of us in red was taken.

I can’t figure it out either. I look like I’m in 7th grade I think. Dad’s wearing a coat so it must have been wintery. I don’t get it.

And I guess you are now my wordpress expert!!!

Hi there! I am a fellow WordPress blogger and a Geocacher from DFW. My daughter and I will be visiting the Tulsa area this week and are looking forward to picking up a few caches along the way. This will be her first OK find so I’m excited for her. I was bummed to see that your “Boys Night Out” cache looks to be out of commission. I LOVE the idea of putting a camera in the cache! We have yet to place a cache yet but I think the idea of the camera is one we will adopt!! Great idea! Look forward to finding a couple of your caches and keeping up with your blog. Hop over to mine from time to time and say hi. 🙂

Keep your eye on the cache. I’m going to disable it but if I get a chance I’ll reinstall and put a camera in.

Thank you, I can tell that WordPress is going to be a great experience.

I got here seamlessly from the old link, so you must be doing something right! I enjoy the posts on your family history. Must’ve been fun and educational, having a forest ranger for a dad.
