Here we are Silver Dollar City, the big amusement park in Branson
We saw some pretty good bluegrass music by Lindley Creek. I’m not much of a bluegrass bu I liked these guys. They are a family.
Lots of patriotism at Silver Dollar City. Flags and bunting were everywhere.
There is the kid disobeying signs again. Good for him is what I say.
And we saw some things that we couldn’t figure out.
Heather and Logan went on a couple spins on Wildfire, a high tech rollercoaster. That’s them on the far side of the back row. I feel so sorry for them. I’m such a chicken coward when it comes to rides.
Here is the rest of their trip. Sorry for the shaky video. I was scared just watching the thing.
There’s Heather. She loved it and so did Logan. I love this photo of Heather.
We finally found a ride I could manage. This rocking chair. I can rock the chair and eat blackberry ice cream at the same time. That’s good for me!
Anyway, that’s that!
Here is a link to our last trip to Silver Dollar City which was Spring Break 2010. Logan sure has grown since then.
How fun! We have been to Branson a couple of times. We went for the music, shows, and plays, though, not the rides. We like the old section of town, too. We found a really great little diner there that was right out of the past. We managed to get there for breakfast every day we were there. Thanks for sharing your pictures!
Thanks as always for sharing the fun!! I do love the pic of Heather!! Oh, wow!! Logan has grown a LOT hasn’t he!!! Great shots for the day! Now, go have lots more fun!!
I’ve never been to Branson, but I can tell you, I’d be sitting beside you on the rocker – the ice cream sounds good, too! I like the family selfie and the ones of brave Logan and Heather.
I’m definitely with you on the irrationality of the ride. Does that make you an old fogey, like me? Agree also about the picture of Heather, she looks giddy with all the fun of the ride whilst Logan appears to be thinking “why all the fuss, it’s just a ride”.
You look as though you’re also enjoying spring weather in your neck of the woods – signed Envious of Leeds aka Anne.
I’m not a roller coaster fan either! I always walk away with a headache.
A question came into my head at about 300a.m. (don’t ask) – do you call those rides “Big Dippers” as we do over here?
Took a look at your link back… things sure grow fast out there. hahahahaha
You and I have the same attitude toward roller coasters. Heather and my wife also have the same attitude toward thrill rides. Yep, a rocking chair and ice cream work for me. Have a great time.
@Leedslass – The only thing we call big dippers out here is a certain constellation and a basketball player from long ago called Wilt Chamberlain.
It has been many, many years since I have been to Branson and I know it is a very different place now than it was then. It looks like there is fun for everyone….I would be with you in the rocking chairs with ice cream and avoiding the roller coaster.
LOL! Heather and Logan looked like thye had fun!
I am not a fast ride person either, yet my husband and children are. The jury is still out on whether the grandchildren will be–they are still too young. I hope at least one will be like me and keep me company in the future 🙂
