Tulsa State Fair

I took a long lunch today and went to see the Tulsa State Fair. I can get through the Fair pretty quick. The only thing I like to see is critters and a few other things. I don’t give a flip about the crappy food. The big thing this year is Krispy Kreme doughnut hamburgers in addition to deep fried cheese cake. Blech. I don’t care about the midway, I don’t care about the home and garden exhibits, blech. Show me the critters and the 4H Exhibits.

The overwhelming school of choice of 4H is Oklahoma State University. Believe it or not, but about half of Oklahomans will be rooting for Texas during todays OU Texas Game. Yep, I’m not kidding. Sooner Fans and Cowboy Fans hate each other.

As a licensed professional Chemical Engineer I liked the 4H take on the periodic chart.

Oops, this is a critter post, on to the critters!

Is their any domesticated critter more dramatic than Longhorn Cattle?

I’m not a huge fan of the Tulsa State Fair. Like you I enjoy the critters. I also enjoy the sugar arts and some of the other exhibits. The traffic – nah. The midway – nah. The people hawking stuff – nah. My husband is the same way. So we rarely go. Thanks for the photos. It’s almost like being there but without the hassle.

If you watch the local news during the Tulsa State Fair, they’re always reporting from the Midway and talking about the crazy fair foods. I’m not a fan of all that stuff, either. I want to see the livestock, etc. Thanks for sharing! I love the Longhorn Cattle! This is beautiful weather with no rain in the forecast for days, so maybe I’ll make it to the fair for the first time in the seven years of living here.

Those are some good shots Yogi. We aren’t going this year =( can’t afford it. Oh well. Well I love the animals also but I admit I love some of that fair food. Love the funnel cakes, roasted corn, not crazy about all the deep fried stuff though. Ohhhh and I like the turkey legs. =P

I haven’t been to a state fair in a looooong time, but I enjoyed the county fair this year. I missed the bigger critters, though, cause my companion pointedly didn’t want to go through the barns. We did see the poultry & rabbits, though!
I like the fair, but generally skip the food. Our county fair has never had a midway, I hope it never does. I was pretty disgusted that they have started charging to park your car…
Thanks for the visit, I hope you succeed in solving our energy woes!

The longhorn cattle are always impressive, and that Dr. Seuss critter is amazing, but I’m a sucker for bunny pictures. Cute will get me every time.

The animals were all I ever went to see at the Texas State Fair in Dallas and your terrific photos brought back lots of fun memories. I love them all, although have to admit the bunnies really got to me. I always had a bunny when I was a little girl, so, fun memories they are! The long horns are awesome and who wouldn’t love the Dr. Suess fellow!! Hope you’re enjoying a great weekend!

These pictures are just wonderful, you know how much I love farm animals! Dr. Seuss Critter is priceless…do you know what it is? It looks kind of like a Llama except for the ears.

I like that unique periodic table – it’s not quite like I remember it from science classes!
Love the Dr. Suess critter and the longhorns. You got in a lot of critter viewing in a short time. Hope you solved the nation’s energy problems. We need help.

We go to our local county fair, which is small agriculturally based fair for the critters, too. But the roundhouse with the award winning veggies and fruits and quilts and stuff is also always a treat. And at our fair, they have local apples for the candy apple stand and I love those.

I enjoyed your critter shots a lot!

I have not been to the fair in a long time but this year I can ride instead of walk and will enjoy it. I like the livestock, especially horses, and I want to see the insect collections. I was a 4-H entomology wizard in high school. Just call me Bugs. See you at 2-ish.

We took the grand kids Saturday, so we did the mid-way, the sugar arts exhibits, and Disney on Ice. We had a great time. Photos later this week on my blog.

Fun! I would have gone for the picture opportunity. Count me out on these deep fried cheese cakes though… Yuck! Why would you need to deep fry a cake? That’s beyond my understanding.
