Captured a grackle shadow on our back fence earlier this month as one grackle moved another off a feeder. Grackles are noisy, aggressive, invasive birds but sometimes a lot of fun to watch.

…perhaps I would rather have a grackle than all of my squirrels.
My husband (the feeders are his “baby”) gets so aggravated when the common grackles show up. They seem to rotate around our neighborhood. I saw one in our yard yesterday pulling a large blade of dead ornamental grass from last year, probably to be used as nesting material. Like Tom said, I’d rather have grackles than squirrels, though. That was a great capture getting the shadow. Alana ramblinwitham
They really are fun to watch!
I’ve never heard of them but their behaviour sounds similar to magpies.
Lindas imagenes. Te mando un beso.
That is a great shoot!
One day this week we had a couple grackles land on our bird feeder that is suction cupped to the window for the cats enjoyment. I’m not sure what the cats thought of birds larger than a sparrow. They haven’t been back since.
