Skywatch Friday – Sneaking a Pic

Recently Added-107

Earlier this week I sneaked back up to my old work area on the 17th floor to take a late afternoon pic of the sky to the west along with the Arkansas River. Of course me being me had to try out a few filters on the photo to give a little more character than what it had originally.

It turns out okay but I wish I could get the Aloft Hotel chain that bought our old City Hall and converted it to a loft hotel (whatever that is) to take their sign down. I can’t imagine that an old office building would make a very good hotel but what do I know? I mean besides nothing.

If the hotel only knew how that signage impacted your view they may have reconsidered its location. Now you will have to do some serious editing in PhotoShop or other software to remove the distraction
. Still, the view is beautiful and I really like the filter that you have chosen here.

So lovely picture of the sky and panorama; gorgeous expressed and edited, just like an illustration for a book! Wonderful! Have a nice day and a good weekend!

Look at that — you stood up on the 17th floor and created a fine oil painting! And it turned out amazing. Just beautiful seriously. I love this. Boutique hotels are all the rage; there are several in Oregon that I know of (not from personal experience).

Very nice on the edit work. I had to look at it several times. I just knew it was a photo of a vintage painting. Great work as always. Good luck.

Alan, cool shot and photo-edit! I actually like this look. It makes me think of crinkled paper and gives the image a vintage feel. Nice Skywatch Friday edition!
