A few weeks ago before our present snowy state I took our dogs on a long walk. It was a very frosty, cold, clear, beautiful day.
From left to right is Abby, Rascal, and Ginger. As you can tell I brought along my Diana plastic lens film camera. I love it. It drives some of my fellow bloggers crazy. Sorry guys and gals, I love it. I love my various digital cameras also.
We started out in the greenbelt. We came upon this
How come some places get nice graffiti and we get wannabe gang graffiti well hidden away in a greenbelt?
We eventually made it to our neighborhood elementary school. Lots of nice playground equipment here.
You can’t have too many swings at a school.
We checked out one of the neighborhood ponds
It was cold enough that part of it was frozen over. There are a few swans that live permanently here. One is swimming in the distance at the center right section of the photo.
We took a turn in a loop along some woods bordering the ground of a Cancer Hospital. Here is the serendipity. We found a small decorated tree in the woods.
There were handmade decorations with names on them hanging in the tree. I have no idea what they are there for or how long they have been there. Just one of the mysteries than one encounters that has no answer. The photo looks a little ghostly. I intentionally double exposed it in order to get both decorations in one photo. You can do that with a “cheapo camera.”
In all, we went about 3 miles. Took us about an hour.
Nice walk and NO SNOW! I miss the ground.
That was a nice walk and that camera doesn’t bother me at all!
After using a variety of film cameras for years I don’t miss mine at all. It is the development time and expense that I miss the least.
We may have to wait for spring to have that lunch. Definitely not this week.
I gotta say there is something special about a guy who can make an adventure out of walking the dogs.
Fun walk for you and the dogs. I think it’s great that you can find fun in the simple things! That’s not very common these days and it’s a great benefit because your world will never be dull and gray — maybe the weather, but not your world. I almost hate to tell you that we actually have sun today and BLUE skies! Supposed to hang around tomorrow and then back to grim and gray for the next ten! Ah well, I’ll make the most of it today!! Enjoy yours!
Sylvia
The double exposure photo looks pretty cool.
Nice to see open water with ducks in it. We went down to the Wildlife Refuge and there was no open water at all. The ducks and geese must have all flown south.
Strange but funny title
Oh my gosh–I love that last photo!!! Something tells me there’s something special about those decorations.
My dogs would love for you to take them on a walk. When should we expect you?
Love the wannabe graffiti art. Maybe the spring rains will wash it away.
I expose my digital arsenal later in the month. I’m kind of like Tulsa Gentleman. I don’t really miss film. Mostly due to the fun I can have in post production with PhotoShop Elements.
Nice going for a walk with all of you. I am trying to recall a snow-free world. Without your pix, I come up with nothing.
I hope your wannabe Crips were home in time for dinner and a bedtime story.
Thanks for the walk.
Will you be making that same walk tomorrow? It’s supposed to be ridiculously cold and of course the ground will be white (AGAIN). I’m sooooo ready for spring.
You are an excellent picture taker. I should learn some tips from you. My one class “Photography for Dummies” hasn’t quite paid off just yet. I’m still learning.
Nice variety, thanks for taking us along for your walk.
