Our World – A New World

DSCF9866

I’ve been working from home for several weeks now, along with an army of other people. We in that army are the lucky ones who are employed. Others were sent home wondering what is next, others are working in the hospitals, clinics, grocery stores, as police officers and fire fighters and other people working at high risk providing services to us.

Here in Oklahoma we can still do outdoor stuff like running, walking, hiking and other things.

I am glad it is Spring! At least we have flowers blooming! Lovely Redbud trees!
Everything is closed here, too. Essential travel only – grocery store, medical appointments, or drive-thru, carry out food from restaurants.

We are allowed out for a local walk for exercise and for food shopping. Strict social distancing rules apply although some idiots don’t seem to understand . Hope you keep safe.

My world here in NW Arkansas is much like yours, except I believe that golf is allowed, at least in Bella Vista. The Governor has closed the Buffalo River and all of it’s campgrounds. Locally, all of the parks are open but the playground equipment is off limits. Like Oklahoma, schools are done for the year and that is truly sad for the seniors as there will probably be no commencement exercises for the class of 2020. Even my doctors are canceling nonessential appointments or going to E-visits in order to limit the number of patients in their offices. Easter worship services will be electronic which means no Lord’s Supper observances on Good Friday. All in all, it’s a whole new world and I can’t say that I like it or even adjusting to it very well. Looking forward to that day when we can visit friends and relatives again. Stay safe.

We are very blessed to be in the middle of nowhere, so we can walk for miles without worrying about seeing anyone. My hubby is definitely more bothered by the isolation since he is quite a social person; washing the windows inside and out today helped to distract him!

We can go outside to exercise but are supposed to wear masks now anywhere we might meet people. Luckily, in the wilderness behind the house, I only meet wildlife and don’t have to cover up!
