Skywatch Friday – south Tulsa

Skywatch - colorful topaz

Oklahoma sure has some beautiful skies this time of year. No wall clouds here so its okay. We in tornade alley know all about wall clouds, echo hooks, supercells, squall lines, rain shrouds, microbursts, wind shear,  and the difference between a tornado warning and a tornado watch as well as all sorts of other atmospheric physics. This night we could just enjoy the rose colored sunset.

Plus most of us marvel at the stupidity of the storm chasers.

When things go wrong I sympathize with their loved ones and friends who are left behind.

Beautiful pastel skies and a lovely way to end the day — any day!! Hope you’ve had a good week and have a great weekend with your family!!

That’s the most amazing sky shot. I have to confess I thought “storm chasers” were part of film fiction – they obviously really are stupid enough to exist.

That’s a gorgeous sky. It is sad when people are lost to dangerous weather. I don’t understand storm chasers either.

Eastern Colorado has had some turbulent weather the last few days and a friend who lives out there passed a bunch of storm chasers on the way home from work a few days. One of them was a ride-along company where people can pay to go storm chasing. That is so crazy! I hope you go storm running!
