Last week I took my Subaru in for some routine maintenance. I had to wait for a little bit so I did something very “unSubaru ownerlike.” I walked across the street to Mom’s Family Diner to eat breakfast without first consulting Trip Advisor, Google, Facebook, or anything else to check it out. Just went in naked so to speak (you understand I am not being literal here.)
Turns out I made a great decision. I had their 2x2x2 breakfast special. Two eggs, two pancakes, 2 sausage patties and it was great and the coffee was drinkable.
So that proves you can go places naked and it will turn out okay (I am not being literal here.)
I’m linking with Ruby Tuesday. Come join the fun.
LOL I am old enough to remember when going in naked to a restaurant wouldn’t have been a rare thing. There wasn’t any other way to do it back in the day! I am delighted you had such a good experience — I’d hate to think you would be afraid to go naked ever again.
That breakfast sounds good to me. The only places we check out on trip advistor are places we stay like hotels or motels, we’ve stayed in a couple of dives over the years so it’s worth doing.
Some of the best food I’ve ever had at a restaurant has been from small family owned places like that. Glad you enjoyed your food!
Siempre es genial encontrar un uben lugar para desayunar. Te mando un beso
Looks like a nice dinner. Love the red roof. Glad you made the right choice and enjoyed your breakfast.
Ha! You were being adventurous – a good thing. What the heck did we do back in the day without all the reviews!
Yes to seeing otters in the wild, but I think it was in WY and MT – I haven’t seen any in CO. I’ve seen beaver though – there are several beaver ponds near the house. I like that you didn’t meet a lot of people. I went on a long solo snowshoe this AM and only saw 1 person. He was on the trail and I was in the meadow so we just waved at each other.
Our Subaru is soon due for maintenance but, unfortunately, we have no Mom’s Diner across the street nor pancakes of any kind … and I do mean that literally, haha. :))
I almost always go naked to restaurants.
What? No Yelp reviews? Those mom and pop places usually have great breakfasts.
