Skywatch at Tulsa’s Gathering Place

Last week before the weather got bad son Logan and I had a walk at Tulsa’s Gathering Place. One of my favorite spots is the sensory garden. All sorts of fun stuff here including mirrors and a geocache.

We checked out one of the play towers. When there are no kids around I have been known to climb up into these things. We just looked at it today.

And the beach. Too cold for anything beach related besides taking photos.

And the small lake, not much happening there.

I love the big timbers holding up the elevated trails. They have trails going this way and that and some of them cross over others. It’s quite the maze. Fun though!!

I violated a photography rule by shooting into the sun. I also got a crooked pic. Somehow, it worked for me.

And the roof the boat dock.

And then we ventured over to the nearby Arkansas River where the a new dam and pedestriana bridge are being built. The stuff in the foreground is where a new kayak park is going in. All this is going to be ready late next year.

And we saw two Cats.

Nope, this is not in Tulsa. I finished another jigsaw puzzle on my ipad. This one kicked my butt pretty good. I’m getting to where I like the tough ones.

If you want to visit the Gathering Place check out their web site. It’s free!! Bring money for drinks and food but you don’t need tickets or anything. Just come on down. Tell them I sent you.

I am linking with Skywatch Friday. Check it out. You’ll like it. I promise.

    Hello,
Looks like a fun place for the kiddies to play. Love the sky shots , the 6th one down is my favorite.
The puzzle picture does look like it would be hard. Take care, have a happy day!

I would have wished for a park like that when I was raising my son. I briefly visited the website, and it sounds like a treasure. Interesting activities planned for this weekend, too. I’ve violated the “don’t shoot into the sun” rule time and again. I figure, no photography police out there, so why not? That photo was my favorite of the posts you featured today with the color you captured in the upper part of the photo.

It seems like a beautiful place to visit. All the pictures are beautiful. Though you violated a photography rule, I like that photo which you captured by shooting into the sun. It is simply amazing!

Interesting post. I shoot into the sun pretty often. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. It can make the phone overheat though.

That puzzle looks extremely hard to me. Good job! You finished it. Having a day out with son is always a good day. Memories being made. Nothing much going on here either. Too cold. Yesterday was like 4 above zero. Brrrr. Enjoy the week ahead.

Thanks for taking us on this great walk, especially enjoyable with your son. The Gathering Place sounds fun. and all photos are enjoyable. I still do my online jigsaw puzzles, sometimes hard ones like this one. More challenging but so enjoyable when all of a sudden a puzzle piece fits and it ever so slowly all comes together.

The Gathering Place is such a neat thing — you’ve certainly had some good planners there in Tulsa land. The climbing tower does look tempting! When I first retired I joined a senior citizen’s walking group and whenever we walked through a city park, one lady would use either the slide or the cross-bar thingy. I *think* she was just being silly and or showing off her agility — but there’s a chance that she had been retired for so long she forgot how old she was ;>) (I am feeling the temptation more and more).
