Pensacola Pier Skywatch

After our visit to the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, we drove to the Pensacola pier for lunch and sightseeing.

Beautiful skies, almost too beautiful. We were eating outside and the restaurant asked us to move inside. There were two storms headed toward us.

Both of them missed us but I took photos of the resulting skies. I’m not afraid of rain, I am really afraid of lightning though so I was careful. Hear it fear, see it flee it is my motto.

Nothing like a good storm coming through for energy and clean air.

I’m linking with Skywatch Friday.

Stunning pre-storm pictures. There are lightening strike deaths every year in Florida — your motto is a good one. It’s nothing to take chances with. … We stayed one season near Mobile and drove across the state line to Pensacola often. Some beautiful beaches, good restaurants .. I love eating with a water view! and we also visited the Aviation Museum (in your post below) Fun memories.

I’m used to storms and lightening since I’ve lived in Florida for almost 40 yrs But… people have been known to get struck by lightening in Florida on a clear sunny day.

You’re right, some of those photos do make the sky look almost too beautiful! Those kite fliers have better have moved indoors too.

Having been through enough Florida storms (I lived in Tampa for nearly two years) I have a healthy respect for them, especially the lightning. Having said that, they make for great photos and you got some fantastic ones. Loved, especially, the second and the last picture.
