Skywatch Friday – First Flowers of Spring

I headed up to Tulsa’s Wooward Park to see if the Daffodils were blooming.

And oh, man!! They sure were blooming. The blooms were fresh and people hadn’t picked them, yet.

They were beautiful. There were a couple of young women sitting in amongst them (they were carefully making sure they were not trampling photos) and taking selfies. Usually I take photos of all people doing selfies but I left them alone to enjoy the flowers. They were probably taking photos of me and posting about the creepy old guy lurking about.

They also had lots of hyacinths.

And tulips

They had forsythia shrubs blooming

And rebuds. I’ve always loved that stone staircase.

The big trees don’t have their leaves yet.

And they still have remnants of trees knocked down on during our Father’s Day Windstorm in 2023.

So yep, Spring is Springing in Woodward Park!

I love all the spring flowers – on trees, on bushes, and in garden beds. The daffodils are amazing! Wow! I love mass plantings of one flower. The yellow blooms are enchanting. Thanks for all the spring flowers.

Wow, thats really spring! Tulips and hyaciths are still not out here, but my forsythia is in bloom too, see it from my desktop place behind the window.
Stone staircases are great, wish, I could visit the sandstone fortress again, but without a car… –
    Have a nice weekend

I never got to Tulsa in the years I lived in Arkansas, near the border with Oklahoma. Now I wish I had. We did make it to Honor Heights Park in Muskogee twice (possibly 1982 and 1983) for their azalea festival and I remember all those beautiful azaleas and I recall a small lake., too Is your spring ever beautiful. I hope you are dodging the severe weather. Alana ramblinwitham

Daffodils are literally my favourite bulb flower. I just planted a whole lot of Freesias yesterday, they will be a nice set of colour in Spring.

Wow! I was thrilled to see a few blades of green grass this week. The west side of Colorado Springs got three feet of snow the last couple days. We got about six inches.

I love the glorious colour that we get at this time of year. You’ve taken some wonderful photos of glorious flowers. The sky is nice too!

I like the tree with the stone staircase. Not a fan of tulips. It must have smelled nice near all those hyacinths.
