I love Oklahoma but one of the things I miss about the west is being able to see the weather miles away. From our lodge we could see the rain way out to the east.
To the south it looked like a bomb had gone off. It must have been a heck of a rain. Click on the photograph to get the full effect.
For more views of the sky from all over the world check out Skywatch Friday.
A stunning photos. Love that second shot, looks like some smoke coming out fromt that mountains.
Wow! Those are incredible shots! Does indeed look as though a bomb went off somewhere in area!
Have a great weekend!
That first shot looks so ominous. It does look like one monster storm.
Yogi that first pic is simply outstanding, awesome.
Have a nice weekend

wonderful captures…and i agree about being able to see the weather for miles away out west. we get a little of that perspective here but you’ve got to be in the right spot.
have a great weekend.
Beautiful sky shots. Interesting clouds.
Those are great skies. We drove 47 from Aston to Island Park last year. It is a beautiful area.
Beautiful views. The clouds in the last shot look like a dragon on all fours.
Fascinating clouds. You have a good view of the coming weather.
Beautiful skies and great captures and I love the country. Thanks for sharing.

Yogi: What a fun capture of the rainy skies, nicely done.
Great photos – it certainly looked like the south were having a downpour – a bit like here this morning! A
Great capture, the folks under that cloud were getting quite the storm.
The first photo is awesome.
Beautiful photos, loves to see the rain. =)
I suspect you get a lot of those, nice captures:)
Great photos..that first shot is awesome…such a dramatic dark sky…
Such drama! Well captured! 🙂 Makes me feel glad to be indoors though.
I like the virga coming down from the clouds. Those cows in the second photo seem oblivious!
I think the think I love about living in the southwest the most (besides low humidity) is the sky. That last picture is incredible. Can’t imagine the buckets that must have been pouring under it! Great captures!
I read your “Up!” post, too. It made me laugh. We saw it last weekend, too. It was what my husband wanted to do for Father’s Day with our girls. My Facebook update after that was something to the effect of why did no one on Facebook who had seen it (there were lots) warn me of the impending make-up damage? It was a cute movie, but I was a wreck when I left (beginning now long after I got there). Maybe I should learn to sleep through Pixar, too!
Oh the photos looked so lovely. The first photo shows the cloud that looked so low. Have a nice weekend, Yogi.
Both are great shots. I would think its neat to watch the storm roll in from that far away.
Thank you for your comments on my blog – it didn’t actually rain after all; but just threatened to all day!
I love your photos… that’s some big sky!
Nice pics! You should use one of those for my Sunday challenge.
Sweeeeet… I love photos like this but can’t get ’em due to the fact of the Rocky mountains around me…. I love a good storm!!
Thanks for dropping by!
Wonderful photos, I love to watch the storm approaching, it possible here because the land is so flat, not even a small hill.
I LOVED that movie, the forest and waterfall are here in my country aparently the film makers came and liked the forest, the faterfall is “el Salto Angel” you can also see the “Tepuy or tepui” which is table-like mountain, I live near that paradise 🙂
Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your nice comments
