Heather has been working on the house both inside and out. Above is our living room. She makes works hard to make a very festive yet welcoming room. You can tell that LJ, the cat on the hearth is pretty happy with the result. He and Chrissy the Christmas cat take turns on the hearth. Or more precisely he gets the hearth until she kicks him off of it.
Heather also decorated the outside. I put the lights on the eaves and Heather added the lights on the shrubs and wrapped the trees. Plus she put the tree in up the dining room window. I did a lot, I promise. Just because you can’t see what I did doesn’t mean that I didn’t do it. Or something like that.
This is the dining room tree that you could see through the window. It is our “old” Christmas tree recycled.
And this is my Nana, the world’s greatest MIL tree, or more precisely one of her trees. She loves the Gulf Coast so she has a palm Christmas trees complete with a flamingo. Works for me.
Oh, you thought she had just one tree, no, sorry this is sitting room tree in front of a window.
Two trees you thought, sorry, this is her third tree. I like it best ofher trees. So territorial looking. Notice the stove, it is from one of her forbearers who were Oklahoma pioneers. It’s the real deal, but it is not hooked up to a flue. So no fires in it for now. In her previous house she had it hooked up and used it for heat once in a while when it got frosty.
Do you have a tree up yet? I mean if you celebrate Christmas.
Oh, such wonderful decorations for the season!! I love them all!! Since I spend Christmas with the kids, I wasn’t going to do a tree this year, but friend o mine brought me one when he was in town last week — complete with such fun decorations! I’ll have some pics to share soon. Have a great week!!
all decorated here. wow, she has done a wonderful job. so pretty. love the Christmas lights outdoors. i love it when there is a theme. perfect!! ( :
We love the gulf coast too ;>)! Happy Holidays to all…everything looks wonderful at your house and your MIL’s.
We have waaaay to many things in common…like three trees. We used to have four, but we scaled back this year. All of my photos during the Christmas music marathon are taken of decorations around the house. So it looks like we both married Christmas elves. That’s not a bad thing.
I think you and Heather make a great team even if it does look like she did more than you did. :))
I’d much rather look than decorate and these two ladies provide a lot of eye candy. My 8 inch metal tree is somewhere around here.
I cannot believe you, and MIL, have so many trees around the homes. I love to see them in other peoples’ homes but so much decoration is not for me. I’m an old curmudgeon and put my minuscule tree up the weekend before Christmas and take it down on New Year’s day. I’m always glad to get back to “normal”.
May I say, when the children were young, we also went “over the top”. Just so you know I’ve not always been a grumpy old lady.
So beautiful. Love all the decor! Especially the little kitty by the fire! Reminds me of our sweet Sasha many years ago!
How fun to see all the festivity in your home and your MIL’s. I love her tropical tree with the flamingo.
My grandkids speed decorated my tree on Sunday during half time of the Bronco game.
Your house looks very festive and pretty, Yogi! I am still decorating my tree, as we had company this weekend and took him sightseeing.
My maternal grandmother had a cast iron stove in her house like the one your MIL has. How I wish we could have also kept it as a family heirloom! What a treasure!
