Skywatch Friday – September Sunset

September Sunset.jpg

It is the middle of September and summer is hanging on and not letting go. It was over 90 and humid on Wednesday. I’m still training for the Tulsa Run 15K in late October and maybe the Route 66 Half Marathon in November. Last night I ran eight miles along the River Parks trails here in Tulsa.

I’m a very slow runner. In fact I would have to speed up to be slow but I don’t have any time goals in mind for the races. My goal is to finish vertically. Training on the next to the river is very peaceful and it easy very easy to just zone out and flow with the other runners, walkers, and bicyclists. I have been running the trails for over 21 years now and just love them.

Do you have a place where you can go and just zone out?

Love the reflection as well as the sky here. It all seems so magical.

My zone-out place (at the moment) is Lake Simcoe looking westerly at sunset. But actually, I find most places with water to be soothing to my spirit.

The river is so beautiful with the gorgeous reflection. Wonderful place to run (I guess. I would walk, but I’d love it!)

Thanks for SWF (and I remember the Billie Jean match…I didn’t and don’t follow tennis, but I was excited about that match!)

Really nice image. I was NEVER a distance runner, not even when I was in great physical condition. Anything over a quarter mile made me look for something else to do. I would run 100m & 200m, but distance running was never on my list of favorite things to do.

Stay in the zone, Yogi – you have a beautiful trail to run. I just put one foot in front of the other and think about the treat I’ll have when I’m finished!

What a beautiful image. I am glad you like to race but like to enjoy it also. Whatever speed is fine.
I have a small pond on my place I like to sit there and contemplate—with an empty mind. LOL MB

Jillian and I entered a 5K tomorrow. I’m pretty excited to give it a try. If you’re slow then I must be a snail–you’d beat me for sure.
