Things are crazy at work now days. The energy industry has just gone plum crazy. I had a working lunch meeting with some customers who flew up from Houston today. We meet and eat sandwiches during the meeting. I do that a lot a now. Packing more business into the day. Well, we had a good meeting and after they left I looked out the window and its a beautiful day. Time for a quick round to see what is going on.
I headed over to out beautiful BOK Center. Tulsa has their Christmas Tree up already. It seems a little early to me.What do you think. So many facebook friends are bragging about their Christmas trees. Hey what about Thanksgiving?
As an engineer I had to check out the refrigeration for the temporary ice rink going in. I think it will work. What do yo think?
I went by the adjacent Convention Center and caught a couple of reflections.
I love reflections.
I went looking for a geocache that has eluded me. I found it! Do you see it? Want a clue? I’ll give it to you anyway, it is right in the center about a quarter of the down the middle of the pic.
On the way back to the office I took another shot of the BOK Center.
Back to work, helping solve America’s energy problems.
it is a bit early for Christmas and Christmas trees .. the Rockefeller Center tree was delivered this week and it gets lit the 28th … usually its lit the week before Thanksgiving not sure what changed that this year … this is interesting:
Over five miles of lights are used to decorate the tree every year. Only the lights and the star decorate the tree. The tree is recycled and the 3 tons of mulch are donated to the Boy Scouts. The largest portion of the trunk is donated to the U.S. Equestrian team in New Jersey to use as an obstacle jump
Busy day…but you still took time to stop and ‘reflect’!!! That’s cool. Yep, Christmas Trees shouldn’t go up until AFTER Thanksgiving…mho
Glad you got out of the office even though you had to eat and work.
No Christmas trees until after Thanksgiving!!! I think it’s the stores that push it, trying to get more business early! Glad you got out for a walk and to catch your breath before heading back to the working machine!! Hope you have a work-free weekend!!
Great shots! I can’t believe Tulsa already has the tree up!
How would Tulsa, never mind America, do without you and your energy-solving ability?
Too right and bah humbug, trees up way too early. My local supermarket has had its trees up since 1 November.
I like the colours and lines in your first photo, Yogi. Good eye!
It does seem to early to decorate for Christmas but here in Canada we had Thanksgiving in October and the daylight hours are getting sooo short that people are stringing their lights. No Christmas trees yet, though. I live in an area that grows Christmas trees so I expect to see many trees traveling on the roofs of cars in a couple of weeks.
Busy works for you and your photography! I love the reflections shot. Beautiful light.
