South Dakota is truly part of the breadbasket of the world. As far as you can see and for miles beyond is soybeans like this field or corn. To most of us it is just a matter of patriotism when our government announces possible sanctions of agricultural exports to Russia for their misbehavior to Ukraine. To a lot of farmers it means a possible loss of markets and lower prices for their crops. Nothing is cost free.
I love this image. Lots of dynamic sky.
What a great-looking sky!
Like most of the food producing areas of our country, the sky just goes on forever. Most of us never consider how our foreign policies impact local or regional economies. Some days I’m not sure that our federal officials consider all of the consequences either.
Beautiful sky shot, Yogi! I feel sorry for the farmers!
Have a great weekend and happy skywatching!
Awesome skies!! Really took my breath away!! Hope you have a great weekend!!
wonderful sky image.
Beautiful! You’re right about the impact on our farmers and ranchers. They’re the hardest working, most patriotic people I know and they go through a lot to earn a buck. I know I couldn’t do it.
Yogi, Love that S. D. Sky–very interesting. Thanks for heading up the Skywatch Meme–always love to see everyone’s posts. Have a great weekend. Mickie 🙂
I love the different landscapes around the country, but as you know living in the hills of East Tennessee I’m not going to see this kind of flat terrain. It must be amazing to look in any direction and see for miles.

Such drama in that sky!
Yep, there’s no easy solution to the Vladimir Putin problem, is there? If we do something, lots of people will say we did the wrong thing. If we don’t do something, lots of people will say we did the wrong thing.
Hope the farmers find better market.
Dramatic sky!
Karen Carpenter must be right: ‘it took awhile for me to learn that nothing comes for free…’
The sky looks like it goes on forever and a day. Nice image.

The sky is exquisite, the loss of family farms is sad and could bite us in the butt.
exquisite!
I hadn’t thought about how sanctions impact our farmers… hardly seems fair that they have to pay the price.
