Earlier this week a group of us met after work on Turkey Mountain under a full moon. It is supposed to be called the Snow Moon but there was no snow so I used the alternate name “The Hunger Moon.” So called because the hunting was pretty bad in February way back when.
It got kind of dark but we turned on our headlights and ranĀ for a little over three and a half miles. The group runs for a while and then stops every now and then to let everybody get back together before we head off again. Nobody wants to leave anybody stranded on the mountain at night. Night running can be quite disorienting especially if you are not familiar with the trails.
A good time was had by all and we didn’t lose anybody. Especially the old guy who took the picture.

Your tale of running at night reminds me how much I loved to sled down a hill with only the moon and stars to show the way.
Beautiful captures for the day and I do love that moon!! What a great run that must have been!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!
Great
Lovely captures of the moon! Sounds like a great time and event.. Have a happy weekend!
Love that deep, deep blue!
So nice to be out under a full moon although walking would be my preference.
Fun moonlight run. It is nice of the group to stick together.
Wonderful shots.
Lovely shots of the moon! Running under the Hunger Moon sounds as if it could be a good name for a band…
Nice moon shots. I need to get a headlamp!!
I think you are brave to run at night. I am such a klutz that I would trip over the first exposed root I came upon and THAT would be THAT!
Running under the hungry moon seems so challenging!
Wonderful moon shots, Yogi.
