(Drilling rig drilling a horizontal well into the Cana Woodford Shale formation.)
I had a meeting in western Oklahoma on Wednesday. I love driving out there. The sky just opens up and expands and so does my outlook on life.
(Cryogenic Natural Gas Processing Plant under construction.) (sorry about the splotch)
It was a nice dry, not too hot day. Just beautiful.
There were reminders though of why so many people have storm shelters. This area saw a tornado come through just a few weeks ago.
There was lots of damage to houses and buildings and several people perished.
The dry weather is nice, but can lead to grass fires.
I have always thought of western Oklahoma as the beauty and the beast kind of thing. It is beautiful but it can bite hard.
Oh, what marvellous skies!
Nice blue skies over here.

Was this in the panhandle area. We travel through there on the way to Nebraska.
I love the BIG SKIES that you who live in the West enjoy. Great photos of your road trip.
Beautiful Big skies over a vast and vulnerable landscape.
Love the skies and the openness and I do so agree — Oklahoma, like Texas can definitely be the beauty and the beast — beautiful but it can indeed bite hard! Looks like a beautiful day to be on the road! Hope your day is going well!

The trees struggle but look like they will survive. They have no choice but to stay where they are. The people, though, I wonder how many will move on and how many will be like the trees and struggle in place.
wow that’s what you call a big sky, not sure how I’d feel about living in the tornado belt though.
I like the photos of the storm damage – the trees look so dramatic!
@PM Prescott – The photos were taken just east of Oklahoma City near Interstate 40.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing and have a happy weekend!

Interesting structure up against the sky.
The two trees after the tornado are a remainder of how severe the weather can be in your area.
It looks super dry as well!
