Skywatch Friday – Lone Mountain

Lone Mountain in northwest Oklahoma looking with a canola field in the background..

The mesa to the left of the mountain is Gloss Mountains State Park.

I elected not to do any geocaching because of this sign, and I was the only one in the park, and I was 40 miles from the nearest hospital.

Maybe next time, if I can get you to go with me.

Wow I did not know we also have Canola field here in the US. I thought it’s only on Canada, lol! Anyhow love the photos and for the snakes…nope! ^_^

Really terrific captures of such a dramatic, beautiful place! I am glad you read the sign!! I suspect that there are better places for geocaching!! Hope you have a great weekend!

I see OK has its own mini Table Mountain or Ayres Rock – who knew? That field of canola looks like what we would call rape seed for making said oil. Am I hallucinating here?
It’s a wise man who reads (and takes notice of) signs like that.

Pretty photos. I had no idea what a canola field looks like.
Good call to leave the geocaching for another time. If rattlesnakes are prevalent enough to merit that sign, I’d be skittish, too.
