Oklahoma Skywatch

Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin’ down the plain
And the wavin’ wheat can sure smell sweet
When the wind comes right behind the rain.
Oklahoma, Ev’ry night my honey lamb and I
Sit alone and talk and watch a hawk
Makin’ lazy circles in the sky.
We know we belong to the land
And the land we belong to is grand!
And when we say
Yeeow! Ayipioeeay!
We’re only sayin’
You’re doin’ fine, Oklahoma!
Oklahoma O.K
Sorry, I wasn’t born in Oklahoma but I love it here. I know that where you live is great also!

Oklahoma Skywatch

We have had big ole beautiful white clouds in Oklahoma this week and then Wednesday the sky started falling in Tulsa.

Sunday I played golf. I don’t play very well but I took my camera

Later Sunday we had a little drama in the sky

On Monday we had more big fat clouds

Sorry, I had meetings and couldn’t get there in time before they removed the car and put up some plywood.

Fortunately nobody was hurt but several cars were damaged. Only one was still there when I got there.

Skywatch – After Work Running

I run after work on Wednesdays a few weeks ago I took my camera with me.

Cyrus Avery Centennial Plaza on Route 66. You can tell there was a stiff breeze that day.

In case you are wondering why Tulsa is the Oil Capital of the World (or at least used to be.)

Skywatch – Where It Go? The Moon I Mean.

A couple weeks ago I was at home and SuperPizzaBoy and Sweetie had taken our two mutts for a walk. Sweetie called me on the phone and said, “You need to look at the moon, its beautiful!” I’m always up for that so I went out on the front yard to have a look and couldn’t see it. I looked all over for it. Where did it go?

So I went to the back porch and couldn’t see it there either. Well this is crazy. I went further out in the yard and there it was:

Just like Sweetie said!

Sorry about the blurry shot, the picket fence and all that. At least I found it. I get some credit for that.

Silver Dollar Skywatch

A couple weeks ago we spent some time at Silver Dollar City in Missouri. The weather was perfect and the park was bustling and busy on the ground but if you lifted your eyes a few degrees it seemed that we were deep in the woods.

Lots of sweet gum trees with their distinctive seed pods.

A roller coaster behind some more sweet gum trees.

Skywatch Friday – Spring is Here

Spring has finally come to Oklahoma. To celebrate I took my camera on a morning run earlier this week and caught the sun coming up.

20100310_32

I caught the moon up over a tree.

At the end of the same day I took a picture of the sky from my office. Sorry for the camera reflection.

Skywatch Friday – Osage Hills

I ran in a trail race in the Osage Hills northwest of Tulsa last Sunday.

How’d I do in the race? I finished vertically. So I was happy.
