During our recent trip Gulf Shores, Alabama for vacation we noticed that just before sunset every evening there was a migration of fellow vacationers to the beach. They were all dressed in khaki’s and whites and what they were doing was getting their family photographs taken. I got to help out a time or two with taking the photos.
Have you ever worn your khaki’s and whites to the beach?
We just got back from a week of family vacation at Gulf Shores, Alabama. The locals call it the “Redneck Riviera.” No matter, the water is clear and the sand was very fine and white. The beaches go on forever.
We played in the sand, and took fuzzy photographs.
And we just hung out, and took even more fuzzy photos. That didn’t bother us, I hope it doesn’t bother you.
It’s very relaxing, it wasn’t crowded and our fellow beachgoer’s were very nice. Sometimes we didn’t care for their music, but we could move a 100 feet away and couldn’t hear them.
Basically, we just chilled out. Speaking of chilling. The temperature was typically in the high 80’s and low 90’s or about 15 to 20 degrees cooler than Tulsa. Have you ever heard of anybody going to lower Alabama to cool off in the summer?
We swam, walked, read, relaxed and did a lot of people watching. Something about watching somebody fishing is very relaxing to me.

Tuesday morning I ran four miles early in the morning along the Arkansas River trail here in Tulsa.
The trail is on both sides of the river is extremely photogenic.
Who’d of thought that Tulsa makes a great River City. I had it all to myself that morning.
Well, except for one guy that is. We didn’t bother each other at all.
Where were you Tuesday morning?
I don’t know about where you live but here in Tulsa it was 106F yesterday. So I’m taking my watery photographs inside this week.
I’ve been in San Antonio, Texas for a convention. I’m going home Wednesday. (Wednesday is also my birthday.)
On the banks of the Oklahoma River (aka North Canadian River) near downtown Oklahoma City sits the Chesapeake Boathouse.
It is designed by architect Rand Elliott to look like a racing shell with oars.
