Skywatch Friday – 4th of July and a bit of Art

It is incredible how they time the fireworks. Here is a double stack.

Of course this being an American blog, you can expect some fireworks as we celebrated the Declaration of Independence on July 4.

Triple Stack

A couple of my Brit friends posted “Happy Treason Day, You Ungrateful Colonists” on facebook. All in good fun of course. At least I think it was all in good fun.

Quadruple Stack!!!

Enough of fireworks!!! How about a stainless steel tree!!

Enough of fireworks and politics okay. How about a stainless steel tree? Β It is a sculpture called “Yield” by the artist Roxy Paine installed at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas.

I love displays like that, loads of fun and a good opportunity for those of us with cameras to get some good shots, like you did πŸ™‚

Great fireworks captures, and nice job stacking multiple images. LOL at “happy treason day”. Guess it depends upon your perspective!

Great shots of the fireworks! I haven’t done any photography of fireworks in a few years. I must do some this year!

Impressive fireworks Yogi. We have a similar tree sculpture in DC near one of the art museums. Ours is a straighter design but it may be the same artist. Positively glistens in the sunshine, it is stunning. Now that is the British humor I recognize so well. On the other side of he spectrum, I remember coming to the States just as the Bicentennial Year was starting, and was the recipient of a lot of good natured teasing from several of Gregg’s batchelor friends.

Wonderful fireworks picture. Oh, Crystal Bridges – been there once and hope to return “one day”. It is a gem. Too bad I live 1400 miles away.

Those fireworks shots need a soundtrack….. Whoa, quite an unusual and beautiful sculpture. Kudos to the sculptor!

Thanks for the great fireworks shots. I like to see them them but not hear them. That metal tree sculpture is awesome.
