I was in midtown Tulsa yesterday so I popped into the Philbrook museum for quick stroll around their gardens. Above is “American Hippo” by John Kearney.
The museum building from the reflecting pool in the gardens. Below is from about halfway up to the museum building looking down to where I took the above photo.
Please check out Weekend Reflections.
The hippo is incredible.
The hippo is quite a creation. Amazing that all the metal pieces end up looking like an animal.
Love that last photo. The scene is beautiful and the reflection is great.
Ha! That’s as American as a hippo could get, right? ๐ Very cool sculpture. I LOVE to come upon stuff like that.
What a space! “The Arts” are good for sustaining such beautiful spaces. A real treasure. If am I ever in your neck of woods, your post made me want to visit the museum. Great photos!
Peace,
Gina

The hippo looks like it might be in the US, but the others almost look like a scene from Europe! Lovely reflections.
The garden took my breath away. And the hippo looks like transformer in the making ^_^ Thanks for sharing! Happy weekend!

This garden is really beautiful… I like very much this american hipo, that seems made of recycled chrome from car…
What a wonderful hippo – his reflections are amazing.
I especially love the shot of the fountain … the light reflecting so beautifully in the droplets.
Someone has an amazing imagination to create an American hippo. ๐ The reflections in the pools are really neat!
Oh, I do love that hippo!! And your other two captures are superb! The water is so beautiful and such breathtaking reflections! Terrific post for the day!! Hope you and your family have a fun weekend!
