Saturday I headed to Tulsa’s Expo Square to check out the Starbird Car Show. I have been going every year the last several years.

This car show features one of a kind cars, Custom Cars that are heavily modified for shows.

High gloss paint jobs and displayed with lights and mirrors.

I think the owners spend a lot more money than they will ever receive.

But I, along with lots of others, love to look at them. I had never seen such crowsds at the show before. It seems cars have had steadily lower status in our culture for years now.

People used to identify with their cars. Not so much any longer.

These cars are works of art.

And not very practical.

I had a co-worker who was into fixing up the old cars. I think they invested lots of $$ in them and they’d travel all over the country to show them. Whatever makes you happy. I like the jade Fairlane.

My husband and I had a vehicle we took to car shows and parades but after he passed away I sold it. I really like going to car shows.

Wow. I love the lighting on these cars – it adds so much to the glamor! What I like best about them are the colors – certainly shades you would never find on a stock model today – the colors have become so boring …. thanks for sharing these one-of-a-kind masterpieces with us!

I´ve all ways loved vintage cars, especial American ones. And these all looks mighty cool. Really love the -49 Buick, orange is my fav color. Thank you so much for sharing!

Missed it again!!! I really need to put this event on my calendar and make the trip to Tulsa to enjoy the show. I learned how to drive in a ’38 Chevy sedan. I still have a Barrett-Jackson auction on my bucket list. Thanks fro sharing some great photos. Have a blessed day Yogi.
