Up Periscope!

Sunset over Tulsa 2_HDR

We are having some great sunsets the past few days. We get a little bit of rain sometime during the day and then the remaining clouds reflect the setting sun perfectly. I am launching my drone from my back yard straight up to about 150 feet and pointing it west. It is about the same height as when I worked in downtown Tulsa in a high rise with a window looking west. The DJI Mavic Mini drone that I have has a gps that holds the craft in place. If the wind is too much too hold it sends an alarm and I will lower it a little bit.

This is our back yard at about 150 feet up.

This is quite a bit lower. I liked the reflections in our neighbor’s pool.

I hope that everybody has a great holiday weekend. I’m retired so they are all holiday weekends for me..

I am linking with Skywatch Friday. Come join the fun!!

Wow ~ gorgeous sky ~ and the reflection is very creative ~ sounds and looks like you are having fun with the drone ~ Don’t have one and don’t know much about them and don’t plan on using one ~ will leave that to you and others.
    LOL ~
Weather has been a bit weird here with one day in the 88-‘s followed by days in the 50’s and cold

These drone shots are so cool! Really beautiful skies, and there’s just no way to capture them without getting up above houses and trees. I always enjoy seeing them.

You are becoming quite the professional with that drone! Your skies are beautiful — That isn’t bad weather at all. It’s gotten really quite cool and rainy here again. Guess we had a false spring. Yes, long weekends just usually mean we have three days to stay at home while the working people go out and do stuff while they can. Any day can be a weekend for us

Lovely house, lovely hood and beautiful skies. You could do worst. Greetings from rainy Finland and thank you for hosting also.

Greetings and Salutations! It is so wonderful that you have a Drone and are using it to photograph Tulsa from as high as the office you worked at before you retired. It’s a different approach and needs to be seen also. Nice job!

Alan – one of these days, my hubby is going to invest in a drone – he wants to do a little more research. And then I look forward to playing with it and taking AWESOME photos like yours! Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend!

Great sunset and view taken by your drone. I can see that you are having fun with the drone. Wish I had one to play with too. Have a wonderful weekend.

Those skies are so spectacular. Almost makes me want to get a drone. Our spring has totally vanished. In the 50’s today and raining. Was 90 a week ago. Brrrr.

I never thought I’d envy somebody who lives in Oklahoma, but you’re having a lot better luck with sunsets than we are down here in Occupied Mexico. I’m sort of hoping we might get one tonight, but it’s already clouding over, so I’m not holding out much hope. Thanks for your shots, though.
