Our skies have gone from looking like this every day.
To about as blue as you can get. I’ve taken a couple of bike rides and they have been grueling in the heat.
Even on Flag Day. Not too many people celebrate Flag Day any longer.
While going to the library the other day I checked out this installation nearby.
I love fun stuff like this.
I don’t know who made or who paid for it but I’ll take it.
And a shot from the past,
From the past!! This is (was) the the River West Amphitheater on the west bank of the Arkansas River in Tulsa. Back in the day there were all sorts of concerts, local and touring bands and orchestras, rock, country, anything. It is now all gone. I never saw an event there but the performers were on this stage out floating in the water and everybody else was on the bank. I took lots of photos of it on my after work runs.
Love all the photos, especially the one at the library!
I’ll take the blue skies over the clouds unless we’re in a drought. Then I want every possible drop of rain we can get. I like the library installation. It’s colorful and cheerful.
…I love public art installations and this one is an attention grabber! Thanks for hosting the party, stay cool.
Lovely blue sky! Enjoy the weather.
Here in our part of CA, we’re in our first heatwave of the season. 🥵
That’s a cool art installation. I like it!!
Awesome blue, blue sky photo and love the installations at the library ~ very unique and fun ~ Xo

It’s been hot up here so I can only imagine what it’s like with heat and humidity. I like interesting and unexpected artwork too.
Nice to see you back in the saddle again. Be careful out there. And thank you for hosting!
Used to have very good friends in Miami -and remembered how hot it can be in OK! Like the ultra modern light bulb with cord. What kind of celebration was Flag day like in the past? Of course many put up their flag, but were there special events planned for that day?
Yeah I dd not feel liking saying goodbye to blogging yet, although my posts are going more to be opnion pieces. Have a relaxed weekend (don’t bike, haha) Jeshie
Alan – we are enjoying the blue skies as long as we can – never know when smoke will begin to obscure things … love that plugged-in lightbulb sculpture!!!
Great clicks. Amazing sculpture.
Have a nice weekend.
Excellent
Interesting installation.
Interesting and fun installation at the library. Lovely sky shots.
beautiful skies here
Greetings and Salutations! I adore the floating concert thingee. How different and awesome! Music I’ve always liked music. That art project with the light bulb and plug is totally Thinking Outside the Box. So cool. Enjoy your bike rides while you can. Just don’t over do it in those hot, hot days in Oklahoma.
Beautiful photos and fantastic sky shots!
Your “shot from the past” sky is gorgeous! Please be careful riding your bike in the heat.
Isn’t it the way, you get the clear blue skies either when it’s bitter cold or boiling hot? I liked that art installation and Tulsa’s floating stage. I think there’s a floating stage in Orlando, FL, too. I took some pictures of it when I was there (I have family in Orlando so I get to see all the non theme park stuff) it was such a nice idea.
Nice blue sky , we don’t get many of those. The lightbulb is a very creative sculpture, I like it. Enjoy your weekend.
Love these pictures!
We just had a series of very clear days. Thankfully the temperature stayed below 90 F. but the sun was intense.
although I love sun and heat ;-), any activity in those conditions is tricky.
nice set of images.
