Occupying Skywatch

Lots of Weather and Geological Drama in Oklahoma this week. Tornadoes, three earthquakes, and some much needed rain. The state tourism department, trying to capitalize on the moment, jumped on the opportunity.

Yesterday a front came through and afterward the sun was shining.

Meanwhile at Tulsa’s downtown Centennial Green Park the Occupy Tulsa folks were trying to dry their stuff out after all the rain.

They have had their own drama. The city has a park curfew from 11pm to 5am that they have decided to enforce and the occupiers have decided to resist.

What kind of drama have you had where you live?

You have indeed had a little of all of it lately, glad you and your family are okay and you do seem to have some gorgeous blue skies in between events! We’ve had the same marchers/protesters here in Seattle, but they have been peaceful — so far, but there is a LOT of anger, frustration and disgust. Take care, have a great day!

Quakenado may not be what would draw me to OK, unless the temps are warm and there’s no snow. 😉

Crappy weather could reduce a lot of Occupys.

I am not sure the Quakenado works for you or against you in regards to tourism. It’s a double whammy. You probably heard of the Occupy Oakland and Occupy San Francisco dramas in my neck of the woods.

The Occupy drama is happening here in Canada too. The police in London, Ontario, warned the occupiers in that town, and then entered the encampment at 2am and took away all the camping gear. I haven’t heard if anyone is still there or not.

Vancouver is threatening to move in on the occupiers set up on the lawn of that city’s art gallery.

Toronto is also threatening to remove occupiers encamped in a city park. Authorities of that city are frustrated that an Anglican church owns land adjacent to the park and is allowing protesters to set up their tents on their property.

Montreal says the occupy movement has every right to protest and is not cracking down on anyone.

Those are the only four Canadian Occupy Movement groups that come to mind right now.
