One of the churches in downtown Tulsa is expanding.
They have two cranes on site. I’m the chief sidewalk inspector. I love construction and cranes and stuff like that. Here is what they are working on.
Somehow, it looks like they are building the new addition up in the air.
But they are not!
That’s a lot of steel that they have going on there.
Gosh, we see so little new construction these days, I’d almost forgotten what it looks like. I have a friend who insists that economies can’t continue to expand forever, but I think it’s nice to see some growth in these tough times. That it’s a church is even better.
I love the angles of (and in) these shots.
Those are some pretty tall cranes!
Gorgeous skies and what terrific composition! You got some really stunning shots! Hope your have a great day!

WOW!! I can’t imagine working at such heights…I would surely pass out and fall to my death.
Religion business seems to be going good there.
Great one for skywatch! The sky is the daily bread of the eyes. Happy TGIF! Hoping you can visit my skywatch post.
It warms the heart to see a church expanding and building onto their existing site. So many seem to be struggling.
A massive structure it seems.
Cranes always amazes me. Great shot!

That was fun. This post makes me think of all the playing with Lincoln Logs and Leggos and Erector Sets. Those dreams take shape later…in beautiful ways. Great stuff.
That a church is expanding in this Age of Cynicism is good news, even if I count myself among the cynics these days.
Cranes freak me out. It just doesn’t seem possible that they are stable?!
Seems like they are definitely reaching for the sky!
Are they aiming for Heaven? These cranes are high!
wow what great angles!
seriously stunning shots!

Those cranes are huge! They look a little overkill for the size of the building…
I know this site well. It always makes me nervous on the days when the cranes are put up or taken down. Beautiful photos!!!
