I get so confused, what is a group of geese called? Flock, Gaggle, what? I know what the thumb in the photo above is called, its called a goof.
Thanks to Al Gore inventing the internet we have Wikipedia. They say that a group of geese on the ground is a Gaggle and a group of geese in the air is a Skein or a Wedge. Thanks Wikipedia, thanks Al, really.
I found this gaggle at my gym. I have no idea where they came from nor where they were going but they were in formation and they were on the move. I didn’t want to get in front of them but I could tell I was making the adults a little nervous so I called it quits after the the three pics. All I had for a camera was an old recyclable that didn’t do very well in dim light.
Well now I know. Cute sighting, glad you had any kind of camera as it was fun looking at these today. An interesting sight with so many gosling’s in one group.
You definitely do not want to make an adult goose angry!
The gaggle I know is a golfing group.
You don’t often see a whole “gaggle” like that and particularly in parking lots!! Terrific capture for the day! Hope all is well. Have a great weekend!

I think they are a ‘giggle’ of geese, haha!
I have missed your pictures.

That’s a lot of gaggles. Looks like two families heading to the park, or somewhere to eat.
HOLY SHIZ. That is one big azz family! He must have sister wives don’t ya think?
They sure are cute! I usually just call them a bunch of geese when I see them like this.
Lucky us that you had any sort of camera to catch those geese. They don’t look as though they want to be messed with – they’re definitely on a mission.
It’s so funny, it looks like the little ones are being chaperoned. No one gets left behind.
Mostly they’re called a public nuisance around here. When does hunting season start?
They’re adorable! 🙂
i get confused either.
lovely photos, as usual.
Good for you getting a shot. This sort of photo op doesn’t last long. Recently I had to slow down going north on Riverside. I thought there was an accident ahead but it was a mama duck and 6 babies all scooting up Riverside. I had no chance for a photo.
I used to love watching the geese on our lake. I love how they all line up behind momma!
I see the gaggle and the goof. Interesting that they were just walking along on the pavement.
I had no idea geese groups had a different name when in the air. Many thanks to Yogi, Wiki, and Al.
The name of animals and their plural always confused me in English. And it’s a “flock” of geese, right?
