I went on a walk one evening and found this sunset at the end.
We got a new backyard fence a couple months ago. I finally got my weather station reinstalled.
My sister and her husband came to visit. One day we had an eclipse party in the backyard. Everyone had the special sunglasses except for Kodi the dog but he doesn’t care about eclipses so it was all good. After this shot, I wished I had thought to launch my drone. Not to look at the eclipse but looking down at this group as it went up in the air. It would have simulated the rapture for me. Don’t worry, I’m not a rapture but I thought it would have been fun to simulate it.
I took a short bike ride and checked out the water behind the new dam on the Arkansas River here in Tulsa. The river sure looks like nice full of water.
I feel kind of guilty because the Arkansas River is braided prairie river. They have sandbars and multiple channels and support lots of wildlife. So I am conflicted. But the “new” river sure makes nice photos.
And another Lego animal from our trip to the Tulsa Botanic Garden a few weeks ago.
So that is it for this week. I am linking to Skywatch Friday and My Corner of the World.
Didn’t even do the eclipse. To far west and north.
Like the pic of you all looking up. It was rapture for many during the eclipse. It wasn’t visible in my neck of the woods (west and north) but I watched on tv and it was a delight to see all the excitement.
…the reflection in the Arkansas River are spectacular!
Pretty sunset photo! I think there were a lot of eclipse parties, we did not have a good view here.
Pretty reflection images. I like the Lego critter. Take care, have a great day!
Love the weather station. My dad had one, and I’ve been meaning to set something up, but haven’t managed to get it done. Maybe this summer . . . . Glad you had an eclipse celebration, although I guess your coverage wasn’t as complete as ours.
Nice collection of photos – like the Lego art
The reflection on the river is beautiful.
A nice sunset, and an empty parking lot! Nice reflection at the dam. I’m glad I can’t tell it’s a dam, I have a problem with dams, even photos. Blame mother… really.
Gorgeous sunset.
Interesting to see you host parties on eclipse. The dam look and reflections are fabulous over still water
Great pics
nice one, eclipse party!
Great sunset and you and your family looked so comfy viewing the eclipse. I hope you got some good shadow pictures, too.
So cool that you had an ecliple party! I think you might be close or on the path of totality (lucky you!). I’m quite a ways from it, and could barely notice any difference in daylight during its peak.
Wow–what a fabulous weather station to have in your backyard!
I follow Kody on FB who gives “Denver and Front Range Weather” predictions. He has a meteor Meteorologist background and knows what he is doing, but he also has a quirky sense of humor, He has a really big following as his weather predictions are very accurate.
Our eclipse was only 60% so I watched the total one on TV–it looked amazing!
Bellas imagenes. Los cielos enamoran. Te mando un beso.
Envious of the new fence. I need a new one!!!!
Worth a Thousand Words

I’ve never thought of adding a weather station to my backyard, it’s a good idea.
