Shadows of the Vigas and Canales at the St. Francis de Asis Catholic Church in Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico.
Vigas are the wooden beams poking through the adobe wall. They are used for supporting the roof. Canales are the roof drains. You can tell that they have been extended for some reason. I’ll have photos of the whole church later.

…I find adobe architecture intriguing.
It’s been so many years since I’ve seen that type of Southwest architecture. I never knew those names for the beams and the roof drains.
Great shadows! Not architecture I’m familiar with. I’m more used to the adobe/stucco with red tile roofing like in CA missions.
Me gusto la foto. Te mando un beso.
Thats an interesting looking church, probably typical of the architecture in that area.
