February Days

Misty Day in the backyard

Brilliant Blue Sky and and even more Blue Audi (I keep wanting to write Bluer, but I am not sure that is a word.) I’m kind of in a holding pattern because of upcoming knee replacement.

The only bit of green on Tulsa RiverParks right now. Ironically, I am spending more time than ever in the gym now. The surgeon has exercises that he wants me to do to speed up the healing time afterwar the procedure. Plus, the encourage you continue what you were doing before.

Sharing a truffle latte with my wife after an exercise class. So yoga, weights, water classes, stationary bike, and a little bit of walking. Walking is what really hurts now.

A little bit of ice and snow Wednesday morning. So not too many adventures right but I am eager to get on with it and start recovery.

    That truffle latte looks awesome!
Those exercises the surgeon gives you to do are critical to a successful rehab experience. I had a knee replacement 3 years ago and all is well. I finished my rehab almost two weeks early because of my pre-op prep. Praying for a speedy recovery friend.

According to the Internet, “bluer” was first used (according to the OED) in the mid 1700’s. So why not? That second picture was my favorite, and I wish I could have a truffle latte. Coffee no longer agrees with me, even decaf (I think it’s the acid) and I miss it. Good that you are following doctor’s orders – anything to speed up surgical recovery is a good thing. (My post will go live tomorrow morning).

Beautiful photos, love the tree. The green is a lovely sight on these dreary days.
I hope all goes well with your knee replacement and I wish you a speedy recovery.
Take care, have a great day and a happy weekend.

Your truffle latte looks like an extra special treat! I know knee pain–over the years I’ve torn all my knee meniscus. I’ve been told to have surgery but always declined for one reason or another and eventually the pain would subside but my knees are unstable and easily injured. Hence, I baby them as much as possible. I;m sure I’ll need a knee replacement one day, but for now, I manage OK. The surgery is getting more and more streamlined so I know you’ll do well and will love your new pain-free knee!

Recovery is the hardest part.. required so much patience.. good on you for getting your exercises done and taking care of yourself. A truffle latte never hurt anyone either.. yum.

I had a hip replacement in 2023. It went very well, and I have been pain free ever since. I’m so glad I had the surgery. Your photography is amazing, especially that first photo.

Hi Alan, I’m enjoying my visits to YogisDen. February Days is a neat post. Your mention of, is bluer a word?, sent me to Google where I Iearned bluer and bluest are good words. I would have thought more and most … Ahhhh … my grandmother told me I’d learn something new EVERY day … so thanks to you I got today’s bit of knowledge. I enjoyed the images. And yet, another thing I learned … you’re coming knee replacement. I wish you the best on that. I wonder if it’s an in and out surgery or will you need to stay in the hospital for a few days? Lastly, your last image … is that in your general neighborhood? It looks good to me. Have a good weekend! John

You are always so active, I expect things will go well for you, with a quicker recovery than, say… me. I hope the “truffle” in the truffle latte is the chocolate kind!

Wishing you a successful surgery and speedy recovery. The exercises beforehand are crucial – many friends have proved that point to me. My friend who had knee surgery just before Christmas is ahead of schedule on her recovery. I hope the same is true for you! Hugs, Barb
