Skywatch Friday – Changing Light

We are well into Fall and sliding into Winter. The days are still nice and some of the trees still have their leaves despite our stiff Oklahoma breezes.

Daylight Savings Time has ended so the sun is setting at about 5:15 pm. I work until 6 so I get to see some great sunsets late in the day.
HDRish Sunset

The Arkansas River reflecting the sky. A refinery is just to the left of the river. In the foreground is our county courthouse on the left and city county library on lower right.  I experimented with Picnick’s “HDRish” treatment to try and bring the buildings out of the blackness.

Have you tried any experiments lately?

The red trees look almost good enough to eat – scrumptious! I think sunsets over cities look magical, probably because I live in the country. 🙂

Gorgeous photo, love the reflection of the sun off the river. Haven’t done any experimenting lately but if this is the kind of photo you get, then I probably should.

Good eye on the first one at Philbrook. Blue sky, red leaves, green grass – you have a full pallet.

You realize of course that your office window gives you an unfair advantage for sunsets over the river shots.Maybe if I whine enough you will sneak me up there to snap a few.

Thanksgiving is past and Christmas is fast approaching. Be good ’cause Santa is watching.

Fabulous shots and I’m so envious of all the colour on your trees. Ours are leafless (is that a word)?

I tried experimenting at not spending quite so much money in the local deli shop today – it didn’t work – too many scrumptious temptations!

What a wonderful shot of the Arkansas River, there seems to be gold flowing in it.
Overhere in the Netherlands most of the trees have lost their leaves in the first autumn storm this week.

I have fun messing around with Picnik, too. There is really a lot that the program offers us who just take the time to try out the options. I really like what you did bringing out the lights in that second shot…and the color of the sunset in the background is lovely. Your fall trees make me think of what we had a few weeks back. There is NO color left here in our part of VA. Have a great week. genie
