I got a photo op last week with a couple of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. They were very excited to get their picture taken with one of the most famous middle aged photo-geocacho-daddio blogger on my street. They were so excited that:

Summer is here, temperatures are up, its going to be over before we know it, so enjoy it.
A few weeks ago we got adopted by a dog. We put a signs up, “Found Puppy” and drove around and around our neighborhood and adjoining neighborhoods looking for “Lost Puppy” signs. We have listed him on Craig’s List and the local AHA website. Not a word. In the meantime we have really got attached to him. He is a delightful little puppy. A little wild, like puppies are, but very smart.
So my question is:
How long before he is ours?
We might have already passed that point. What do you think?
I just finished Strip with a library copy. The Kindle edition was $14.30 which is about what you could buy the hardback for. What’s up with the prices of the ebooks? Libraries are free, thank you very much.
Anyway this a great book. It has several strong but dangerous characters: Manco Kapak, a strip club owner who has been getting robbed repeatedly and is determined to do something about it, Spence, Kapak’s right hand man who has been assigned the task of getting rid of the robber, Joe Carver, a wealthy homeless guy who is the prime suspect but is innocent but is no guy to mess with, Nick Slosser, a bigamous police lieutenant who has a big problem on the horizon. Perry sets all these, and a host of other characters up and then sends them crashing into each other. This is a book about setups and double crosses and double double crosses.
It reminds me of the old acts on television where the guy sets a bunch of plates spinning on rods. Well that is is what Perry does in this book. Then he sets the puts the the rods in motion also with chaotic results. This is a totally satisfying read if you like crime/thriller type books. It gets four stars out of four. Go to your local library and get a copy. Save yourself some bucks, send a message to the publisher.
The Real Housewives of Oklahoma‘s Monday meme theme is Why Do I Blog?
I had always been interested in the technical side of blogging but I had no idea what I would say. Then I discovered Baloney of That’s Baloney. (Miss Priss is her handle with RHOK.) She was already an acquaintance (who has since become a friend) she told stories with her blog and photographs and is very funny and scary smart and even today if I only have the chance to read one blog in a day, its hers I read.
So I started writing and posting photographs and slowly I “met” other bloggers who were very nice, helpful, and encouraging. Now I am acquainted with a very broad range of people from both here in Tulsa and all over the globe. I have met several local bloggers and find that rewarding. I hope to meet more in the future.
I love blogging because it allows me to tell my story and also find out about other people and their stories. I think that blogging is a big worldwide conversation and I get to participate in it.
It is really as simple as that.
