Ruby Tuesday – Red on Blue
I came upon this old school apartment building during a noon walk of the neighborhoods just south of downtown Tulsa.
Ruby Tuesday – Copper Creek Inn
After a long day exploring Mount Ranier National Park last week we descended out of the park into the little town of Ashford, Washington to eat at the Copper Creek Inn. A small roadhouse that really serves good food to the hungry and tired. Sweetie had zeroed in on the blackberry pie while doing research the day before. It was as good as advertised. She ate it before I could take a picture of it.
Plus, being from Oklahoma we are always in continual amazement at how many people actually keep their windows open. Ours in Oklahoma are buttoned up from March to October.
Of course what I liked was the stick alphabet on the outside of the building.
Ruby Tuesday – Manly Oil and Gas Show Edition
Red, Red, What is Red????
I know last year’s Oklahoma Oil and Gas Trade Expo in Oklahoma City is Red.
The oilfield requires rough and tough stuff. The stuff painted red is the most rugged stuff. I don’t know how that got started but it is true.
Blue is used for electronics and other sensitive items that don’t belong on a drill site.
There was lots of manly red at the oil show.
My employer’s booth didn’t have any red. White and Blue are our colors. There may be “nothing finer than a pipeliner” but we don’t have all the manly stuff that oil and gas producer’s have. If we did, we wouldn’t be pipeliners, we would be producers.
I think this shoot out was a tie, what do you think?
Saint Barry Switzer, former University of Oklahoma football coach was there. Manly stuff and football go together.
This isn’t red, but it is still cool. A natural gas powered motorcycle.
I took these pics in October 2011, so they have had time to marinate. Have you seen any manly red lately?
Ruby Tuesday 2 – Crowing
Running through downtown Jenks, Oklahoma on main street Sunday morning I couldn’t shake the feeling that that somebody was laughing at me.
Have you ever had that feeling that others are laughing at you, not with you?
Ruby Tuesday – Can in the Sky
Towering over the Tulsa Skyline
Convenient, but please watch your step. And be careful during gusty winds.
As Tulsa’s First Presbyterian Church continues it’s expansion.
Ruby Tuesday 2 -Painting the Town Red
I’m in New Orleans for a few days this week.
The red theme started in Tulsa at the airport.
Flew into New Orleans, checked into my hotel, and the red paddles on the paddlewheeler was one of the first things I saw through my room window.
My readers know that I have a think for red cranes. Sorry.
The streetcars were out.
The Norwegians are coming, the Norwegians are coming, Vikings, run for your lives.
A red crane and a red boat!!!!
Two carriages and a donkey. Don’t you think a four row carriage is a little much for one donkey? I think so!!
Thanks Gemma Wiseman and Magical Mystery Teacher!!
Ruby Tuesday – Cranes and Fire
The view from my office building in downtown Tulsa with my favorite crane and a fire in the hills of Osage County to the north of downtown. Surprisingly and fortunately the fire was put out in relatively short order.
