Shadowy Yarn Bombs in the Garden
At the treehouse at the Tulsa Botanic Garden there are several yarn bombs hidden away in the shadows.
Yarn Bombs are my favorite form of graffiti. It’s not vandalism and can be very colorful.
And if they get a little aged, sagging, or miscolored, a pair of scissors removes them.

Shadow Shot Sunday – Mystery Shadows
I was geocaching at a clinic’s gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma when I came upon this sculpture. I thought, “interesting” and snapped the pic and moved on with my task.
I found what I was looking for and noticed the walkway circling the sculpture and saw roman numeral numbers, then the light went on in my head! The sculpture is a giant sundial and is keeping almost perfect time. Eureka. I love figuring out stuff like that.

The Tempietto
The tempietto is the centerpiece of the garden at Philbrook Museum.
A former oil baron’s mansion that he gave to the city to Tulsa way back when.
The pond in front of the tempietto used to be the swimming pool for the residence. A changing room was underneath the tempietto

Shadow Shot Sunday – Halfway Rest Stop
I’ve been riding my bicycle more these days. I try and start in the morning to beat the 100+F heat we have been having (and are going to have for the foreseeable future.) I only go about 15 miles or so. This fountain is my turnaround spot to head back. I don’t rest at the fountain; I rest in the shade of a tree.
Stay cool everybody, find some shade.

MidCentury Modern Shadows
Shadowy cool in the lobby of the former Sun Pipeline Building in downtown Tulsa on a very hot day.
Shadowy Tables
102 Degrees in the Shade
It’s been hot lately, 100 F or over several days in a row. We added an extra water bowl to the two bird baths plus a fountain that we already have and we get a steady stream of customers. We have a rabbit who hangs out underneath the bench most of the day from about 9 am to 4 pm and then disappears. At first I thought it was kind of sickly but it does appear robust so maybe its a doe that has some kits stashed nearby.
