Here in Tulsa, construction continues on the new Pedestrian Bridge across the Arkansas River. They are using this tall crane to set the bridge sections. And yes, I used a filter.

I found this Valentines Heart painted on a tree on Tulsa’s River Parks trail on Saturday afternoon while son and I were taking a walk in some very unseasonably nice, warm, and sunny weather. I hope that you are all ready for the big day. Cards, Candy, Wine, Jewelry, Dinner Reservations? Get your act together!
Speaking of Jewelry, Rustic Cuff is the big thing in Tulsa. They make very cool bracelets that can be combined in various combinations to form “stacks.” Rustic Cuff has quite a following including my wife who really enjoys her bracelets. The company is a local concern and it has been great watching the owner proceed from working the local craft shows to now four stores in Oklahoma and Texas. They make great reasonably priced gifts.
And this is one of my MIL’s dogs, Reba all outfitted in her Valentines scarf she got after a haircut.
Have a great Valentines Day!!

On our recent vacation to the Alabama coast, we spent a morning kayaking the Bon Secour River. There are many houses that back up to the river and have private docks with boats, canoes, and other watercraft. I found this pretty sailboat tied up at such a dock. There is something about a sailboat that speaks to me of wind, water, fun, and a lot of hard work taking care of it.
Have you ever had a sailboat?
It is Spring here in Tulsa, lots of rain mixed with sun and warm temperatures and things are blooming all over like these roses at Lafortune Park.
And these begonias (I think, let me know if I am wrong of course) at the Mayo Hotel downtown.
And this lonely assemblage of flowers near the Williams Tower. In Williams fight with Energy Transfer on their proposed merger I guess the flower budget got shorted. Ever more money for lawyers is the rule these days. What do you think the world needs, more flowers or more lawyers? I vote for flowers!!

A pristine vintage Cadillac ambulance in Tulsa’s Veteran’s Day Parade last week. It really does look an ambulance for the country club set.
Topaz Labs has come out with their Texture Effects software and I used it in the making of this photo. I like it but the software almost overpowers my laptop so I don’t know if I’ll get it or not.
Scene at a gas station /convenience store on a rainy morning north of Tulsa. At the QuikTrips people are coming in getting gas, coffee, breakfast wraps, and sandwiches. Everybody that comes in is greeted. The stores are constantly clean and continuously updated. Stores like QuikTrip and others are killing some of the other chains like Shell and others in the Tulsa area. I don’t mean to sound like a commercial but the plethora of abandoned Shell and other stations in Tulsa has really been a subject of mine on this blog.
